Slack with my posts already!

So after such a great start to my blog, true to form I neglected to fill it out over the weekend. I actually forgot about it, to tell you the truth!

Anyway, not too much to report over the weekend. Spent a fair amount of it socializing and catching up with some friends we haven't seen for a while. Also did a run/swim workout Saturday morning with Gordon which was a lot of fun. We had a really great run together and the swim afterwards felt good. We also both volunteered at the Capital of Texas triathlon yesterday. Gordon was on a kayak out on the swim course, and I helped pull people out of the water at the swim exit. Tough, tough job! I was completely wiped out for the rest of the day. Pulling people out of the water for 3 hours is a tiring job!

Back to work today. At least it's a short week!

Surprised

Finally got 8 hours sleep last night and it felt good. I must try and do that more often!

So I did a long-ish brick workout tonight. I rode for 1:20 and ran for :40. Did the South MoPac loop on the bike then ran in the neighbourhood afterwards. It was pretty hot out there on the bike, but it started getting a little cooler when I started the run, which was nice but not good for my heat adaptation training! I'll have to focus more on that over the weekend. But anyway, the workout felt really, really good. I'm a little freaked out right now because I just calculated my run pace, and it turns out that I ran 8:50 pace for the 4.6 miles that I ran, and I actually felt good running tonight! Hopefully this means my running is finally on the improve again :)

My first real blog

Okay, so I did start a blog a couple of years ago... I think I blogged for a few days and lost interest. Anyway, so here is my attempt to start anew and become a dedicated little blogger! One of the main reasons for starting this blog is that I just recently signed up to do Ironman Arizona in April 2007. I'd really like to journal the next 11 months leading up to the Ironman, because it's going to be a crazy, tiring, stressful, exhilarating, awesome 11 months and I'd like to be able to capture the emotions and achievements (and setbacks) that I experience along the way.

So - welcome to my blog. I hope to keep it updated with regular posts!
